It is only fitting that the world's fastest monohull were equipped with the most advanced satellite communications from Inmarsat.

Each race yacht had a FleetBroadband FB500 terminal onboard - Inmarsat's latest maritime communications service.

FleetBroadband offers Standard IP up to 432kbps plus simultaneous voice, for general email, internet and phone communications. And Streaming IP enables guaranteed data rates on demand, up to 256kbps, which is used for video broadcasting direct from the race yachts.

FleetBroadband is delivered through a compact antenna, which is easily accommodated in the limited space available on board.

In addition to FleetBroadband, each yacht was also equipped with a Fleet 33 and an Inmarsat C terminal for back-up and safety communications.
